Wednesday, October 29

8:51 p.m.  Police respond to the area of Route 9W near the old Leprechaun Inn for a deer on the roadway.  Officer observes a spike buck lying in the right lane, still alive, and attempts to drag the deer off the roadway.  As the officer is doing this, the deer gets up and took office.  Officer reports that the deer had no apparent injuries and speculates that it was just tired.

Comments:

Did the officer make a note the party affiliation of the deer

Tired? More likely hit and gut-busted. I have seen them jump up and run with broken legs. A tired deer does not rest on the highway.

Gosh - someone posted at the same time - the first remark was funny, not the poor deer being injured - I hope it is ok.
