The CCMS Jazz Combo |
June 07, 2007
Jazz music, choral singing and readings of Greek myths entertained customers at the Barnes & Noble store in Newburgh during the Cornwall Middle School PTO Summer Reading Fair on Wednesday evening.
The school’s Jazz Combo under the direction of Steve Kessler took the stage first and played a half-dozen tunes. Twenty members of the school’s chorus then wowed the crowd with its beautiful arrangements. Music teacher Valerie Ransbottom directed.
Finally, several six-grade students presented excerpts from Greek mythology essays they had written in class.
A portion of sales that night, and on Thursday night, is being donated to the PTO so if you have been meaning to buy books for summer reading, head over to Barnes & Nobles today and tell them you want the money to go to the school group.
