The Music Man will come to town this Saturday |
March 17, 2007
The Cornwall-on-Hudson Elementary School performance of "The Music Man" will take the stage Saturday evening at 7 p.m., despite the fact that school facilities will be closed the rest of the day.
The school district maintenance department made special arrangements for the elementary school's Kids Klub drama performance, whose opening night production was cancelled Friday night by snow. An additional performance of "The Music Man" will be presented as a Sunday afternoon matinee at 2 p.m.
The young actors at the middle school also suffered a setback in their rehearsal schedule due to the storm. The Drama Club, which will be performing "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" starting this coming Thursday, had to cancel a six-hour rehearsal scheduled for Friday evening and a four-hour rehearsal scheduled for Saturday.
Ms. Marietta Veglia, who is directing this year's production along with music teacher Valerie Ransbottom, plans to make up for the lost rehearsal time by adding sessions on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings after school until 8 p.m.
