Eight local students were honored for having their poems selected from hundreds of submissions to the Hudson Highlands Land Trust's River of Words Poetry Trail at Constitution Marsh, Garrison. The Poetry Trail is a series of temporary installations of nature-inspired poetry by local students displayed along the Marsh's trail. Pictured from left are the winning poets: Brynn Martin, Haldane Elementary; Aine Blum, Willow Avenue Elementary, Cornwall; River of Words Educator Irene O'Garden; Gabriella, Uhl, Willow Avenue Elementary, Cornwall; Ronan Murray, Cornwall Elementary; and Frankie DiGiglio, Haldane Elementary. Missing are: Javier Salazaar and Ava Harmon both from Putnam Valley Elementary and Henry O'Neil, Haldane Elementary. The self-guided installation is up through August 28.
School's open, drive carefully.
