To the Editor,
As a resident of Cornwall-on-Hudson, I am writing to ask our community to consider an important vote on November 18. The Cornwall Public Library is presenting a referendum to our voters in order to make much needed repairs and enhancements to the building. After 15 years, the building is showing signs of age and is “bursting at the seams”. The programs offered attract large numbers of attendees whether children or adults. The recent Civil War program was so well attended that it had to be moved to another building to accommodate the interested group. Space is at a premium level and everyone, including the knowledgeable staff, serves the patrons in confined areas. The Cornwall Public Library is a valuable, ever growing source of knowledge for the entire community. It stands out as an irreplaceable Gem in the Cornwall area. Please join me in voting YES on NOVEMBER 18 to guarantee the library will be available for the next generation.
