WWI Lecture looks back at “the Great War” 100 years Later
CORNWALL, NY – 2017 marks the 100th anniversary of the United States entry into World War I. Tom DeStefano, American History Professor at Bergen Community College, will be giving a lecture at the Cornwall Public Library commemorating the event on Tuesday, September 19th at 6:00 PM. The program will cover the causes of WWI and the opposing alliances, including The Triple Entente and the Triple Alliance; how the United States – originally a neutral nation – got involved in the War; as well as how new military weapons affected the outcome of the Great War and the conflicts to follow. There is limited space, and registration is required via the library’s online calendar or by calling the library at 845-534-8282.
