General News: Criminal Mischief in Village

On Wednesday, November 27, 2013, starting at approximately 11:15pm, the Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson Police Department began receiving several calls during a 30 minute period from local residents reporting unknown subject(s) that had reportedly thrown rocks/ objects through windows at their residences.
Residences at Idlewilde Park Drive, Andrews Lane, Hirle Street, West Street and Spruce Street sustained damage to their exterior windows and siding as a result.
Following a joint investigation by the Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson Police Department and the Town of Cornwall Police Department, two (2) 16 year old suspects were located in the area of River Avenue a short time later and were both subsequently interviewed and arrested.
One 16yr old male subject was charged with (1) count of Criminal Mischief in the 3rd Degree and (4) counts of Criminal Mischief in the 4th Degree. The male subject was booked, processed, arraigned and released to the custody of his parents.
The second 16yr old male subject was charged with (1) count of Criminal Mischief in the 4th Degree. The male subject was booked, processed and released on a desk appearance ticket.
One subject is due back in Town of Cornwall Justice Court on December 11, 2013 @ 5pm.The second subject is due back in court on January 08, 2014 @ 5pm.
