The Cornwall Town Board met in Town Hall on Monday night, May 13, for its monthly Regular Meeting.
On the agenda was a decision to reschedule a meeting on Cornwall Commons in a larger venue so that the public can participate. Although no date was set, the Board emphasized trying to select a date that “works well with all of the parties.”
As of now, the Cornwall Central Middle School auditorium is the proposed site for the meeting. However, because the meeting will likely be held in June, a month which is very busy for the school, it may be necessary to select another venue.
During the public comment portion of the meeting, citizens in attendance asked that the Board keep people informed as to the format of the meeting. The last Cornwall Commons meeting resulted in much frustration amongst those in attendance, who felt that they were not given an opportunity to make their voices heard.
The Board wanted to make it clear that no public hearing has been set yet.
The Board also accepted a motion to temporarily close Old Route 32 to repair the stone culvert. Access will still be available on both ends of the road for those who live on the road.
