Beth “Bella” Garrison, a Cornwall-based health and nutrition specialist, delivered a presentation on detoxing with green smoothies to packed house at the Newburgh Free Library on Saturday, February 23.
Garrison, who suffered from numerous health problems throughout her life, including fibromyalgia and frequent kidney stones, was able to treat and cure herself of many of her ailments by adopting a healthy diet, detoxing and cleansing, and employing other alternative methods. Although she stressed that she is not able to diagnose any illness, Garrison was enthusiastic when sharing with the audience the various lifestyle changes they can make in order to enjoy greater overall health.
Her primary focus was on green smoothies. She shared recipes and samples with the audience, giving away ingredients to anyone eager to go home and make their own.
Garrison explained the health benefits of the smoothies and emphasized the importance of incorporating raw foods in your diet, while limiting indulgence in sugar, alcohol and caffeine.
She displayed a remarkable degree of knowledge in this field, answering audience members’ questions thoroughly and clearly.
Garrison’s website claims that she strives to giver her clients “a happy, healthy life in a way that is flexible, fun, and free of denial and discipline.” Anyone who is interested in her work can visit www.bellagarrison.com for more information.
