General News: Presentation at the Library
January 31, 2013
On Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 7:00 p.m., two local Habitat volunteers will make a presentation to the public entitled, “Build Your Understanding of Habitat for Humanity.” The program will take place in the Library’s Community Room.
Using a power point presentation plus Q&A, Jane Disare and Ginny Hayes will tell about about Habitat’s work and achievements in Greater Newburgh, and will show how the “hands up” approach has worked for over 65 families in the local community. With a great and increasing need for affordable, safe housing—and over 1,800 families currently eligible—there are many volunteer opportunities where people can use their own tools and skills successfully!
During the evening, those in attendance will also learn whether the following statements are true or false.
Habitat gives away free housing.
The Greater Newburgh community includes the Town and City of Newburgh, Town of New Windsor, Village of Goshen, Monroe, Washingtonville, Montgomery, Gardnertown, Vails Gate, Cornwall, Cornwall-on-Hudson, and Highland Falls.
Habitat is a government-sponsored agency.
