Cornwall-on-Hudson Council #7470 of the Knights of Columbus of St. Thomas of Canterbury Church held a Spaghetti Dinner on Saturday, January 26. The fundraiser was held to benefit an organization based in the city of Newburgh whose purpose is to finance the digging of fresh water wells in rural Africa, bringing clean water to its residents.
Neduora & Shepherds, located at 301 Anne Street, is a small, non denominational, non-profit group established in 2008 by Nigerians for Nigerians. Fr. Peter Clavier Ugo, President of Neduora & Shepherds, a Catholic priest of the Diocese of Issele-Uku, located in the African Delta State of Nigeria, came to the U.S. to earn a degree from Fordham University. He is currently in residence at Sacred Heart Church in Newburgh.
Cornwall-on-Hudson Council #7470 of the Knights of Columbus Grand Knight Jerry Gilman said that well over 70 guests attended the Spaghetti Dinner and that all of the proceeds will be donated exclusively to Neduora & Shepherds.
Fundraiser Dinner Chairmen: Tom C. Di Salvo and Tom M. Di Salvo. Deputy Grand Knight Matt Smith. Knight Volunteers: Joe Hanley, Greg Rocco, Jim Kline, Tom McMahon, Gene Fenton, Bill Grabe and Jeff Hager.
