Several businesses from the Cornwall Plaza shopping center on Quaker Ave. participated in their second annual "Winter Extravaganza" on Saturday, January 26. Encore, A Touch of Gold, Cornwall Wine & Spirits, World Wide Travel and Main Street Cutters joined forces to promote their businesses. Each business offered a discount, or chance to win a prize. Cornwall Wines & Spirits offered a wine tasting. Town of Cornwall Board Member Randy Clark stopped by Cornwall Wines & Spirits on Saturday to sample the wine and was greeted by owner Kenn Brodmerkel.
Cornwall Wines & Spirits will continue the fun with more wine tastings this coming Friday, February 1, 4-7pm with chocolate liquer samples and Saturday, Febrary 2 3-6pm with a Raymond Vineyards tasting.
Encore, the consignment store in Cornwall Plaza which raises money for The Greater Hudson Valley Family Health Center, Inc. saw a considerable spike in traffic on Saturday. Regina McGrade, the health center’s Director for Development, said that the store saw one of it's highest traffic days since it opened. McGrade said "People were calling the store for directions, we had people from all over who are now seeing Cornwall as a destination in their travel." Encore offered a gift basket as one of the prizes featured by the businesses.
