January 16, 2013
By Joseph Oliveto
The Village Trustees met on Monday night, January 14 for the first work session of the new year. With a budget not yet finalized for 2013-2014, and the deadline of February 1 drawing near, a public hearing was held at the beginning of the meeting on the issue. However, at this time, there was no public comment made.
The proposed budget can be found on cornwall-on-hudson.org.
A public hearing was also set for January 21 to discuss amending the law regarding parking on Holts Lane.
Mayor Coyne praised the New Years Eve ball drop event, saying that “approximately three hundred” people attended. He did, however, point out that there was not any other entertainment or activities planned alongside the ball drop, saying “I’d like to do something more next year.”
Commenting on the issue of the DPW building litigation, Mayor Coyne said, “There has been some movement.” He did, however, reserve primary discussion of this particular issue, as well as the museum lease item on the agenda, for an executive session.
