General News: Murder/Suicide in Cornwall

The New York State Police in conjunction with the Town of Cornwall Police Department investigated an apparent murder / suicide on Friday, December 14, at a residence on Mine Hill Road in Cornwall, NY.
The investigation revealed that Joseph M. Oliva, age 58, fatally shot his wife, Sandra Oliva, age 54, while inside their residence. Both victims, who were the sole occupants of the residence at the time of this incident, were found deceased by responding officers.
The New York State Police Troop “F” Forensic Investigation Unit processed the scene. The Orange County Medical Examiner’s Office responded and removed the Oliva’s bodies to the Orange Regional Medical Center, where autopsies were scheduled for Saturday.
