To the editor Wendy Bogart:
All the effort, time, hard work and heart you have obviously put into resurrecting and building the outstanding and widely read community oriented E/News, your News From Cornwall and Cornwall -on-Hudson", is a tremendous asset to both our general population as well as to our Business, Arts, Historic, Environmental, and Recreation communities.
Recently, immediately following "Super Storm Hurricane Sandy" impacting our region, your E/News, on November 1st, ran a Letter to the Editor that I wrote, in regards to the Sunoco Gasoline Station at Five Corners in Vails Gate increasing prices by $.20 cents a gallon for regular grade. I asked if this was price gouging, or a result of wholesale price increases by bulk distributers.
Apparently, by publishing the letter and the 2 attached photos, your publication had a very positive effect on the Station management - the prices were lowered back to the original pre Hurricane rates.
What a fantastic impact! Your E/News showed the power of the press to right wrongs and protect citizens from being victimized. Thank you and keep up the good work.
I strongly urge all the various members of our community to please support our press in any way you can - the press is a great asset and force in protection of our rights and the American way of life.
