General News: Hearthstone Contracting Inc. will soon be in Cornwall

The contracting company purchased 259 Main Street and plans to start renovations within the next month. Hearthstone, builders for last year’s Extreme Makeover Home Edition in Bloomingburg, has been in existence since 2001. Hearthstone has worked on many residential projects in Orange County, and has a strong presence in Cornwall. One project includes a restoration of the Prayer Room at the Grail with architect Jeffrey Steeholm Small of Cornwall-on-Hudson. Hearthstone also has an expansive commercial division in Orange and other local counties.
The company is very excited with this move. Andy Stahl, Hearthstone’s president, was born in Cornwall and lived in Cornwall his entire life before moving to Washingtonville.
Hearthstone is very committed to the community and dedicates time to not-for-profit entities like Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh. Hearthstone took part in Habitat’s Builders’ Blitz this year and Andy has recently become a Habitat board member. Hearthstone also gave its time to fit-out The Greater Hudson Valley Family Health Center’s consignment store, Encore Consign For A Cause, located in the Cornwall shopping plaza.
Andy and Margaret Stahl are very happy to be receiving the Distinguished Service Pillars Award from The Family Health Center on November 3.
Currently Hearthstone is working on many residential projects and also working for New York State Government, The Village of Walden, West Point, Beacon store-front projects and The greater Hudson Valley Family Health Center.
Hearthstone's new office will be located next to the Lemon building on Main St. in Cornwall, across from Prima Pizza.
