General News: Cornwall Cops Catch Burglar

Shortly before 8 a.m. on Wednesday 10/17/12, a New Windsor resident called police after spotting a stranger enter a neighbor’s house on Route 94, in the vicinity of Meadowbrook Lodge. Town of Cornwall Police responded to investigate and found a man matching the caller’s description. Gary Tremper, age 27, of New Windsor, N.Y. was found to be possessing a credit card in the name of the residence that he was entering, along with assorted jewelry and coins.
Gary Tremper was then charged with Burglary in the Second Degree; a class C Felony, Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree; a class E Felony, and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fourth Degree; a class E Felony. Tremper was arraigned before Town Justice Navarra and remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bail. He is due to appear in court on Monday, Oct. 22.
