River View Run 2012, Michael Kelly Jr. |
October 17, 2012
By Mary Kelly
This year's River View Run for Parkinson's Research was a huge success! We had the biggest number of runners ever this year totally approximately 270. The race had it's highest number of entries ever and was a beautiful day filled with a positive atmosphere.
Everyone was there with the same goal in mind, to see the many people affected by Parkinson's live free of the disease. The Kelly family has raised $33,000 this year for Parkinson's research, about $23,000 from the race and another $10,000 from the brewery event. Since joining Team Fox in 2009, the Kelly family has raised nearly $85,000 for Parkinson's research.
Michael Kelly who has Parkinson's disease, ran his third consecutive NYC marathon last year for the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research with his daughters Jennie and Mary. We are so excited that my dad will be running his fourth consecutive NYC Marathon this year for Team Fox. This year son Michael Jr. will be by his side.
