For those who haven't seen the leaping waters of Kaaterskill Falls on a glorious summer day, or a breaking wave on a rocky New England shore, your opportunity is here and you won't have to travel to see them. The first art show opened with a reception at Leo's Restaurant right here in Cornwall, Saturday, September 9th. The opening reception, from one to four p.m., was well attended and Leo's provided the refreshments.
The show features the work of a long time local artist, Paul Gould. Among Paul's work currently hanging in the dining room are two large oil paintings featuring the Falls and the Shore.
Danny Maniscalchi, the manager and owner of Leo's, had gallery lighting installed to better show the work and arranged for Tom Doyle, local nature photographer, to schedule a different artist or photographer each month.
Paul currently has fifteen paintings on display with scenes as diverse as Tuscany, Niagara Falls, the Grand Tetons in Wyoming, Iona Island Marsh, Brittany France, and Rockport Maine. So now's the time to travel to these faraway the easy way, no long hours on the road - no endless lines at the airport, just a short drive to enjoy some fine art with fine dining.
