General News: Over 40 Soccer Players Wanted
April 22, 2012
Coaches and volunteers of the Cornwall United Soccer Club (CUSC) have undertaken the task of forming a new team to challenge the Hudson Valley Soccer Over 40 league. The spring season begins on April 28 and they are on a mission to recruit 6 additional players to fill their ranks.
"Our coach named our team: Cornwall United Eterno!" said one of the managers and players, Alberto Faccon. "Eterno means ageless, or age does not matter. Our team is made up of players from Cornwall, New Windsor, Vails Gate, West Point and even Stony Point. One player is offering to come all the way from Long Island!"
"By forming this team we have a great opportunity," said coach Steve Buckout, "not only of challenging the 12 teams in the HVSS League, but also of bringing Cornwall United soccer to a level where the tradition of soccer spans from youth to seniors and from players to coaches. It's a win-win for the entire Cornwall United Soccer Club!"
"Even though the team is shaping-up well, we are still looking for an additional six players to join our team." said Alberto, "Moreover, we have an all-year-round recreational soccer program that usually meets at 9am on Sundays at Laurel Crest park (in spring), Willow Ave or Middle School (in summer) and NYMA's gym (indoor in winter). We welcome anyone to join the CU league soccer or recreational soccer. We want everyone to come and play!"
