General News: Two Trustee Seats Open at Library
March 07, 2012
The Cornwall Public Library is currently making petitions available for people interested in seeking the positions of Library Trustee. The library originally reported one term being on the ballot at the annual operating budget vote on Tuesday, April 17, 2012. A second position recently opened up due to the resignation of an existing board member. The initial term announced reflects a trustee position that will be vacated by Mary Davis Clark who will rotate off the board in June. Both terms are for five years.
Members of the Board of Trustees attend monthly business meetings, and other meetings and work sessions as needed. All meetings are held at the library. Candidate must be willing and able to serve the five-year term.
Candidate must meet the following legal requirements:
* Be at least 18 years of age
* Be a citizen of the U.S., and
* Have legal residency in the Cornwall Central School District for at least the past 30 days.
Petitions are available at the Cornwall Public Library during regular library hours. Petitions must be signed by at least twenty five (25) qualified voters of the district and must be filed at the Library no later than 6 P.M. Friday, March 16, 2012. For further information please call Karen LaRocca-Fels, Library Director, at 534-8282, ext. 201.
