Police in New Windsor raided a home in the Beaver Dam section of New Windsor early Friday morning and arrested four people in relation to the sale of marijuana at the property.
New Windsor police lieutenant Michael Farbent reports that the head of the household at 328B Walnut Avenue, 37-year-old Solina Martinez, ran the marijuana sales operation with her son, a 17-year-old high school dropout. Police had been investigating the case for three months and observed people coming to the house to pick up the marijuana, which had been packaged into small dime bags, Farbent said. Martinez was charged with criminal possession of marijuana in the fifth-degree and with endangering the welfare of a child. Her son was charged with criminal possession of marijuana in the fifth-degree and with criminal sale of marijuana in the foutrh-degree.
Two other men were arrested at the location, including 19-year-old Troy Williams of Washingtonville, who police say just happened to be sleeping over at the house Thursday night. He was not tied to the drug operation but was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth-degree. Farbent said the weapon was a pair of brass knuckles.
The fourth defendant, Daniel Negron, age 24, was charged with criminal possession of marijuana in the fifth-degree.
Police also seized quantities of marijuana, cocaine, packaging and sales equipment, money and other drug paraphernalia in the raid.
