To the Editor:
Would you please forward my Christmas list to Santa?
May I have a Police Chief. We have a hard working, professional police force that is asking for leadership.
May I have stamped plans for current or future projects that will cost the taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars.
May I have a Municipal building that wont flood in a hurricane denying the residents refuge and destroying our trucks and equipment.
May I have new meeting rules that allow a resident to speak more than 180 seconds. Without being interrupted at 90 seconds being told to ”wrap it up”.
May I have access to information without having to use the freedom of information laws or wait 3 months to get relevant information.
May I have a public hearing so the residents can express there opinions to the village government about the state comptrollers report.
May I have a budget that shows respect for the residents in hard times.
May I have prior notification when I am expected to vote for bonds worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.
May I have a drainage system that works in heavy rain.
May I have open government.
Thank you Santa for the village code being put online.
Thank you Santa for a great summer youth program.
Thank you Santa for the 10,000 attendees at the Hike and Bike.
These gifts will be gratefully accepted with your good wishes for a safe and happy New Year
Good wishes to all.
