General News: Skimming Device Found at Chase Bank
December 03, 2014
On Saturday November 29th Chase Bank Security contacted The Town of Cornwall Police to report that someone had placed a skimming device on the ATM machine at the Chase Bank on Quaker Avenue.
Chase Security was monitoring the ATM remotely and when irregular activity was observed. An off duty officer went to the bank and confirmed that a skimming device was installed. Chase Bank security contacted Cornwall Police when the card reader was being removed. Sgt. Douglass Schofield responded to the bank and apprehended Elvis Karaj, age 28, of Ridgewood, NY. At the time of his arrest Karaj had in his possession the card reader and a pinhole camera that had been installed on the ATM that was used to capture data from the ATM machine.
Karaj was charged with unlawful possession of a skimming device in the 2nd degree, a Class A Misdemeanor. He was remanded to Orange County Jail on $5,000 bail. Town of Cornwall Police say the investigation is continuing and that Karaj may face additional charges.

A misdemeanor? That's almost as much of a travesty as what's happening at the other end of the spectrum, with Chase CEO Jamie Dimon fleecing American taxpayers of untold millions or billions, with our government's consent.
