General News: Varsity Teams Qualify as Scholar-Athletes

It’s been another record year for varsity athletics in Cornwall. All the varsity teams qualified for Scholar-Athlete Status under the New York State Public High School Athletic Association.
Lou Cioffi, the Cornwall Central School District Director of Athletics said the award is a tribute to the caliber of the district’s student-athletes, their teaches and coaches. “When you combine this with out five League championships, four Sectional titles and two Regional championships, it makes it even more impressive.
The breakdown of grade averages for each team follows:
Girls Cross Country 93.95
Boys Cross Coutnry 93.95
Girls Swimming 93.68
Boys Soccer 92.67
Girls Volleyball 92.03
Football 92.00
Girls Soccer 91.99
Girls Tennis 91.67
