Renovations to the building that will house Brothers Barbecue started Monday, with a pledge from the owners to start up this spring.
The owners of the popular rib joint posted a message to their Facebook fan page Monday, which said they had begun the first of the extensive renovations needed to renovate the building on Route 32 that will be the new location of the restaurant.
Town Building Inspector Gary Vinson confirmed that the owners Gavin and Jamie Farella had gotten their permit to perform the necessary work to the building’s foundation and the other needed permits were in the process. He added that he was still reviewing the renovation plans.
The new site for the restaurant sits right next to the original site of the Ferella brothers’ restaurant. The first site was destroyed in August of 2010 when a fire broke out overnight and completely destroyed the rear part of the building where the smoker cooked the meat for the restaurants’ favored dishes.
