To the Editor:
I would like to take this opportunity to thank J. Kerry McGuinness, publicly, for his service to the Town of Cornwall.
Here are a few of the reasons for this:
We were lucky to have him as a Councilman on the Cornwall Town Board. He, always, "did his homework" and went that "extra mile" when necessary.
Kerry chaired two Comprehensive Plan committees---designed to look forward and make recommmendations for the future of our town.
He was the Town Board liaison to the Highway Department. As a Project Manager for a large construction company, his knowledge of roadwork, etc. made him the logical choice for this position---and he lived up to our expectations!
He took his councilman position very seriously. He, willingly and efficiently, worked on any task to which he was assigned.
He was a definite, valuable asset to the Town Board. I want the town to know that Kerry's main concern was the Town of Cornwall and, more importantly, the people who live in it.
Despite the fact that we did not always agree, I must give credit where it is due. He served the town well and deserves to be commended for it. I value his opinion, and friendship, and hope he will continue to share them with me in the future.
I welcome the two elected board members. Randy Clark, to continue his good work on the board, and Betty Longinott, with her many years of experience in town government. Both are fine, competent people whom I look forward to working with.
