General News: Community Thanksgiving Service Tuesday

The 44th Annual Cornwall All Faiths Thanksgiving Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday (Nov. 22) at St. Thomas of Canterbury R.C. Church.
The service will include prayers, hymns and remarks to celebrate the season of Thanksgiving. The speaker will be Chris Bell, director of Good Counsel Homes, which helps homeless pregnant women.
The service will feature music sung by the Cornwall Combined Choir under the direction of Joyce Hoffman, music minister at St. Thomas. Abby Mayer will blow the ram’s horn and Cornwall Supervisor Kevin Quigley and Cornwall-on-Hudson Mayor Brendan Coyne will issue proclamations. Local scouts will lead the Pledge of Allegiance. Following the service, participants can enjoy light refreshments and fellowship in the school gym.
Monetary and food donations will be collected for Good Counsel Homes.
In addition to St. Thomas, the participating congregations are: the Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, Cornwall residents of the Jewish faith, the Cornwall Presbyterian Church, the Cornwall United Methodist Church, the Mountainville United Methodist Church, and St. John’s Episcopal Church.
