October 20, 2011
To the Editor:
We would like to give a huge thank you to the Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson, the Town of Cornwall, and the Town of Highlands for allowing us to hold the 2011 River View Run for Parkinson’s Research on October 2, 2011 along Route 218. We had a wonderful day and a great race over a tough course for both new and competitive runners.
Thank you to everyone who supported us for our very successful fundraiser which raised over $20,000 for the Michael J. Fox Foundation which will be used for research to help find a cure for Parkinson’s disease. We would especially like to thank the police departments of Cornwall-on-Hudson and Town of Highlands, COVAC and Town of Highlands Ambulance Corp., West Point Tours, the Cornwall High School girls soccer team, Mount Saint Mary’s College Women’s basketball team and Men’s and Women’s Cross Country teams. In addition a heart felt thank you to all the friends and family volunteers that day that also made this event possible.
Michael, Jennie and Mary will be running as members of Team Fox for the Michael J. Fox Foundation in the NYC Marathon on November 6, 2011. They plan to cross the finish line in honor of everyone who has supported the River View Run.
We hope to continue this race each year until a cure for Parkinson’s disease is found. Thank you so much and we hope to see you next year!
The Michael J. Kelly Family
