To the Editor:
I was a passenger on the bus that the seniors and others take to get around town. I was there with a senior passenger who wanted me to also let you know that the bus is needed for several reasons, one most important being that they also feed 125 meals to shut-ins and the sick for meals on wheels.
This senior bus takes them to their destination to deliver those meals. That bus certainly serves the community. I take it also to get to Main Street in Cornwall also.
I hope this informatoin helps when it comes to saving the funding for that para-transit company.

Comments:
I absolutely agree with MD Lewis! Senior Bus transportation is vital to the senior community for a variety of reasons. At a time when the senior population is exploding, I can't imagine why sufficient funds cannot be acquired to keep this service operational. Emphasis is now on helping seniors maintain their independence. What better way to encourage this than to maintain this "independence" vehicle for a growing segment of our population.
