General News: Clean Up This Saturday at the Riverfront
September 02, 2011
The Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson is asking adult volunteers to help clean up debris from the storm at Donahue Memorial Park at the Cornwall waterfront on Saturday September 3rd beginning at 9:30 am and extending through the morning until at least early afternoon. Volunteers should bring gloves and make sure to be careful because there may be sharp objects in the trash, but most of it is small woody debris washed up when the river flooded the park. There will be at least one mechanical loader there to move material to a dumpster after it’s picked up. If you can, bring a rake, shovel, and/or plastic garbage can. If you have a pickup or other vehicle that can be used to move garbage cans full of material to the dumpster that may also be useful. If needed, this cleanup effort will continue after Saturday and an updated notice will be posted here.
