July 10, 2011
A shopkeeper on Main Street will appear on a show on the Sundance Channel that first airs on Tuesday, July 12th. at 10 pm. Bernadette Montana is not your ordinary shopkeeper. Her store, Brid’s Closet, sells clothing, jewelry and herbs, many of which can be used in religious rituals. She’s also a priestess in the Wicca religion and a recognized expert on witchcraft. That’s why she was invited by the producers of the show, Love/Lust, on Sundance, to talk about the Salem witchcraft trials of the 17th century.
The episode airing on Tuesday focuses on the paranormal and how people tap into their deepest hopes, fears and desires through paranormal experiences. The heightened emotional states of the young women and their male prosecutors in the witchcraft trial are indicative of the interplay of the emotions and the paranormal.
Montana said she traveled to a studio in Manhattan for the interview with the producers of the show. She talked about a number of topics involving Wicca and the occult and cannot be sure what the editors ended up leaving in but she will definitely be watching to find out on Tuesday night.
