General News: Town Extends Building Inspector Agreement
June 14, 2011
The town of Cornwall will continue to provide building inspection services to the village of Cornwall-on-Hudson following a vote by the town board on Monday to extend its inter-municipal agreement another 90 days.
The agreement was first signed in early March as a temporary measure while the village searched for a new building inspector. The village position has been unfilled since December 2010.
Town board member Al Mazzocca reported that the town building inspector worked for the village 23.5 hours, or five to six hours a week, during the month of May. The village re-imburses the town for the service at a rate of $45 an hour.
Village mayor Brendan Coyne told News from Cornwall and Cornwall-on-Hudson last week that he intends to have a village inspector in place by August.
