To the Editor:
The Cornwall Garden Club once again had a successful plant sale. First, we would like to thank all the people and businesses who donated goods and services to the silent auction that accompanies our plant sale. Second, we must also thank our entire community for continuing to support the Garden Club by attending the plant sale and for using the plants they buy from us to beautify our Town and Village.
It is such a pleasure to see all the color that comes out in May and June from the brilliant hanging baskets displayed on front porches to the striking gardens and potted flowers our neighbors care for each year.
The proceeds from the Garden Club’s once-a-year fundraising effort helps our Club plant and maintain the gardens at Chedeayne Circle, the Bandstand and Munger Cottage, as well as helping with our other community service programs. For example, The Cornwall Garden Club supports a scholarship to the Hudson Highlands Museum Summer Camp and awards a scholarship to a high school senior who will pursue college studies in horticultural and environmentally related fields.
Our sincere thanks to all for helping support our work!
Margaret Vatter, President
Cornwall Garden Club
