General News: Library Seeks Public Input
May 23, 2011
From the Cornwall Public Library
The Board of Trustees of Cornwall Public Library has initiated a Long Range Strategic Planning Process, the goal of which is to develop a long-range plan for the library’s future over the next several years. As a key element of the planning process, an Ad Hoc Committee comprised of several trustees, the library director and key members of the library staff are preparing to kick off the month-long information-gathering portion of the multi-faceted process which will be ongoing between May 20th and June 20th.
The Committee has prepared a Community Survey that is now available for library patrons and non-patrons to complete, to provide their input and opinions about Cornwall Public Library – its programs and services.
The brief survey is available:
* At the Library’s Front Desk
* At the Reference Desk (by the public computers)
* At the Children’s Desk
* At library programs during the month-long period
* Online through the Library’s website (www.cornwallpubliclibrary.org)
Completed paper surveys are due back at the library no later than June 20th in order to have the information included in the final report that will be used as part of the foundation upon which the Strategic Plan will be based. The online survey, once completed, will be submitted to the library electronically.
A number of Focus Groups will be conducted during the same time period, reflecting various categories of library users and non-users. Participants are being sought, and will be eligible to win one of a number of prizes offered as incentives for getting involved. Anyone interested in participating in a focus group is invited to call Karen LaRocca-Fels, Library Director, as soon as possible, at 534-8282, ext 201. The Focus Groups will be facilitated by Thomas Weddell, CPA, a partner in Vanacore, DeBenedictus, DiGovanni & Weddell – a dedicated community volunteer and leader.
For more information about the library’s Long Range Strategic Plan, please contact Ms. Fels at the library.
