General News: Cornwall Basketball Team Defeats Four to Win

The Cornwall boys 10th grade AAU basketball team won their fourth tournament over the weekend by capturing the Capital Revolution Tournament played in Albany.The team's record now stands at 18-2.
In the first game, Cornwall defeated Bethlehem 62-36. Drew Thorpe had 12 points and Brendon Lupo and Donald Malone had five rebounds.
In the second game, Cornwall defeated the Hudson River Titans 70-42. Zach Bouton, Maleek Griffin, and Louie Cioffi combined for 46 points and Brandon Lupo and Connor Staudle each collected six rebounds.
In the third game, Cornwall defeated the Troy High Raptors, 78-66. Maleek Griffin scored 28 points and Zach Bouton 27. Zach Bouton recorded 18, Louie Cioffi 15, and Connor Staudle 10 points.
In the semi-final game, Cornwall, after being down by as many as 14 points, defeated the highly regarded Hudson Valley Heat of Poughkeepsie, 60-56.
In the championship game, Cornwall defeated Oneonta, 59-41. Louie Cioffi led the winners with 20, followed by Connor Staudle with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Donald Malone, Brandon Lupo, and Chas Del Bene each recorded five rebounds and Austin Stewart had five assists.
