Friday night was Junior Prom Night and, following a grand Cornwall tradition, the young ladies and gentlemen all dressed in their finery made a trip to the riverfront at Donahue Memorial Park to have their photos taken against the lovely backdrop of the Hudson River and Hudson Highlands in the late afternoon sun.
By 6 pm, the road to the river was crowded and Cornwall-on-Hudson officer John Antinori had his hands full directing traffic, sending drivers to park on the lawn once the parking areas were filled up and directing others to 'keep moving' so as not create a traffic jam. Others walked to the riverfront, mainly the teens who were not attending the prom but who came down to check out their friends to see how they had been transformed from jeans to gowns and tuxedos.
By 7 pm, everyone was moving on from the riverfront. The Junior Prom, held this year at Anthony's Pier 9, got underway at 7 pm, and no one wanted to be late.

Great job, COH police department! Smart handling of the traffic flow, which added to the overall pleasant ambience of the evening. Thanks!
