Four Cornwall youths were found in possession of stolen GPS units last Wednesday after a report of a suspicious vehicle.
A town of Cornwall police officer stopped a vehicle on Route 9W that fit the description of a vehicle that had been earlier reported on Manor Drive where the occupants were looking into the windows.
Police charged an unnamed 18-year-old male from Cornwall and a 16-year-old male from Cornwall with criminal possession of stolen property after noticing two GPS units on the floor of the car. A 15-year-old male and 14-year-old male were also charged and referred to family court.
Town of Cornwall Police Chief Todd Hazard said that while there had been reports in that area of GPSs being stolen from vehicles a few nights before, the police department hadn’t been able to link the alleged thefts to those reports.
