Letters to the Editor: Dogs Have Run in Forest for Generations

March 23, 2011

To the Editor:

Is the writer who complained about dogs in Black Rock Forest serious? Disturbing wildlife and leaving behind waste? You have got to be kidding me. You know there are coyotes in those woods, right? How about bears, ever hear of 'em? Deer trample through the woods with reckless abandon, sometimes in groups of 20 or more!!! Hurry, grab your rifle. We must shoot the deer to preserve habitats.

Maybe you should take a nice stroll down the Boulevard so that you can experience nature without leaving the road.

By the way, Black Rock is private property. Feel lucky you're even allowed there at all. Many of us have been taking our very well behave canine companions in those woods, off a leash, for multiple generations. I know my family has been doing it for over 50 years.
