General News: Scholar-Athletes at CCHS

For the second season in a row, all Cornwall High School varsity teams have qualified for NYSPHSAA recognition as Scholar-Athlete teams, according to Lou Cioffi, the school district Director of Athletics. The organization recognizes varsity teams with a 90 or above academic average.
The Girls Indoor Track team finished with a 96.2 average, followed by Boys Ski (93.1), Wrestling (92.3), Boys Indoor Track (92.2), Girls Basketball (91.9), Boys Basketball (91.3), Girls Ski (91.2), and Boys Swimming and Diving (91.0).
“As a school, we are extremely pleased that again, all our teams achieved this status. It demonstrates that student-athletes achieve as much in the classroom as they do in their respective sports. It takes sacrifice, hard work, and high expectations from teachers, coaches, parents, and the student-athletes,” Cioffi commented when making the announcement.
