To the Editor:
First, I want to thank all the residents who came out to vote. This year had the largest turnout in many years. And I especially want to thank all of you who voted for me. I truly appreciate your support and encouragement along the way.
I have to agree with Mark Edsall on this one…it has been an amazing race! When I began this journey I really did not know what to expect but I have learned a lot over the past few months. I have learned that many people really do care about what happens in this community and are willing to share their knowledge and concerns. I learned that many people were unhappy with the way things were being run and wanted change. This is very evident in the fact that almost half of the people voted for me. Hopefully this sends a message to the other participants that they need to change how they do things. They not only represent those that voted for them but also those that voted for me. It was a close race and one that I am glad I participated in.
I will continue to attend meetings and I hope that more of you will attend. It is important that you let those responsible for running our government know how you feel about issues.
I congratulate Brendan Coyne and welcome him as our new mayor. I congratulate Mark Edsall and Andrew Argenio and wish them the very best. You have a tough year ahead with a lot of work that needs to be accomplished. I truly hope that this new team will work together to get the work done.
Again, thank you to everyone who voted for me and to all those that helped and supported me throughout this campaign.
