General News: Winter Weather Precipitation Report
March 15, 2011
Winter still has six more days before it runs its course, but amateur weatherman Anthony Incognoli has sent in some new observations of the precipitation patterns of the season.
Incognoli writes that the winter weather pattern flip flopped. During the first half of the winter, he measured 61.5 inches of snow in the yard of his home in Cornwall-on-Hudson.
In the last six weeks, only 5.75 inches of snow fell, he reports, with no snow so far this month. However, he did measure 6.72 inches of rain this month, almost twice the average amount for the month, with two weeks to go.
