General News: Moodna Council Logo Contest
March 14, 2011
If you’re inspired by the Moodna Creek and have artistic talent, you may want to try your hand at creating a logo for the Moodna Creek Watershed Inter-municipal Council, which is holding a design competition.
The council was created on October 22, 2010 by an inter-municipal compact among the fourteen towns and villages within the Moodna Creek watershed. The mission of the council, made up of local officials, concerned citizens and community organizations, is to protect and preserve the land and water of the 200 square mile Moodna watershed, which makes up 20 percent of Orange County’s land area, and includes areas of stunning scenic beauty, homes to thousands of Orange County’s citizens, and critical water resources.
The Moodna Council is seeking a logo that represents the council and communicates its mission and community role. The contest is open to all residents of Orange County. Student artists are especially encouraged to enter.
Artists should submit their entries by Friday, April 15, 2011. The contest will be judged by council members at their April 25th meeting. Generous Orange County organizations have donated logo award prizes: Moodna Creek Solutions (Rain Barrel), Manza Family Farm ($100 gift certificate), and Jesters in Chester ($20 Gift). A grand prize will be given for the winning entry.
Entry forms and instructions may be obtained by visiting the Moodna Creek Watershed Intermunicipal Council Webpage (hosted by the Orange County Water Authority) at http://waterauthority.orangecountygov.com/moodna_council.html or by contacting Ed Helbig, Education Coordinator, at (845) 615-3869 or [email protected].
