To the Editor:
I have come to the realization after last Monday night’s Village Board meeting that our Village government is out of touch.
Out of touch with the fact that there was no public input or referendum on spending our taxpayer money on the DPW building when it was originally proposed.
Out of touch to not give our Village employees the Maple Street former water department building to use as temporary quarters while we decide how and if fixing the DPW building is feasible.
Out of touch not to allow for a referendum on whether our residents want a full or part time Police Department. I believe that maintaining the continuity of full-time police officers is important to our Village.
Out of touch when the Trustees decided to hire a law-firm without a firm contract, use the services of the law firm without thought to the eventual bill, continue to use the law firm, knowing full well that they were over budget, and now have our taxpayers foot the bill.
Out of touch by taking away our First Amendment right by limiting public comment.
Out of touch by failing to provide our Village taxpayers basic services or the ability to have their property inspected by a Village building inspector.
Out of touch by bringing our Village to a complete standstill due to pettiness, selfishness, and egotistic behavior that would not be tolerated on the playground.
Watch on my ArgenioAndrew Channel on YouTube (as always unedited) and see your government for yourself.
Come Election Day, March 15th, “We the People” need to rid our Village of this outrageous dysfunction. We need to get our Village government back in touch with the residents who deserve, expect, and are dependent on quality services our local government should provide.
