To the Editor.
Following are my comments regarding the article in News from Cornwall and Cornwall-on-Hudson entitled: "Status of Full-Time Police Officers on Hold".
Firstly, I would encourage everyone to read, on the village's website, the posting of the report entitled: "Administrative Study, Final, Cornwall Village Police Department, November 2009". I find this report to be most comprehensive and enlightening.
Regarding whether the village should have a full-time, or a part-time police force, or even no village force, it is my opinion that the village residents should be provided with a financial breakdown for each of these three senarios. Also included should be the non-financial pros and cons.
With this common information available, the residents can form their own opinions. Then, I suggest, a referendum be held to select which option the majority wants.
