February 13, 2011
From the Cornwall Public LIbrary
The Cornwall Public Library is currently making petitions available for people interested in seeking a position as Library Trustee. Three (3) Trustee positions will be on the ballot at the annual operating budget vote on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 – one each for a three-year term, four-year term, and five-year term. The five-year term reflects an existing trustee position that will be vacated by Anna Morabito Tilley who be rotating off the board. The other two terms reflect the two additional trustee positions added by the existing board in January, and currently filled by appointed trustees, Cheryl Buescher and Roberta Sherman.
Members of the Board of Trustees attend monthly business meetings, and other meetings and work sessions as needed. All meetings are held at the library. Candidates must be willing and able to serve a five-year term. Position terms will be filled according to the number of votes each candidate receives, i.e. candidate receiving the highest number of votes will be appointed for 5 years, second highest vote total will be appointed for 4 years, and third highest vote total will be appointed for 3 years.
Candidates must meet the following legal requirements:
