General News: Library Announces Opera Trip

Opera enthusiasts are invited to sign up for Cornwall Public Library’s bus trip to New York City Opera at Lincoln Center, to enjoy a matinee performance of Donizetti’s “Elixir of Love” on Sunday, April 3rd. The trip has been made available with the generosity of the Friends of Cornwall Library.
Details of the excursion are as follows:
Those participating are asked to meet at Cornwall Library at 10:15 a.m. on the morning of April 3rd for a 10:30 a.m. (sharp) departure. Bring a bag lunch to enjoy at a local atrium, or plan to buy at a NYC deli. The opera runs 2 hrs. 20 min. with one intermission. It is in Italian with English subtitles.
After the performance one may enjoy dinner on their own, and meet back at the bus at Lincoln Center at 7:15 p.m. (sharp) for a 7:30 p.m. departure back to the Library – or take advantage of a special option:
Big Band Social
On the Promenade level of the David H. Koch Theater immediately following the opera. The social features an unlimited buffet, dessert, tea & coffee, wine & champagne – all accompanied by the music of Swingadelic, a live Big Band, for your dancing and listening pleasure.
Cost to attend the opera only is $53.00 (includes gratuity for bus driver). Cost to attend the Big Band Social only is $43.00 (includes gratuity for bus driver). A special Combo Ticket for both events is $93.00 (which includes a gratuity for the bus driver). Payment in full (cash or check payable to Cornwall Public Library) is due by Friday, March 11th.
