Arrests

Monday, January 17
Police charge Joshua Bell, 24, of Salisbury Mills, with using unreasonable speed and with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Police charge Darrin Obanks, 41, of Maybrook, with operation a motor vehicle with a suspended registration.


Monday, January 24
Police arrest Aaron Engenito, 25, of Cornwall, on a bench warrant.

Wednesday, January 26
Police charge 26-year-old Javier Canizo, of Newburgh, with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and with operating a vehicle with no insurance.

Friday, January 28
Police charge Michael Miele, 36, of New Windsor, with operation a motor vehicle with a suspended registration and with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree.

Saturday, January 29
Police charge 20-year-old Madeline Krause of Highland Mills with driving while intoxicated and with unsafe lane change.

Sunday, January 30
Police charge an unidentified 18-year-old Highland Mills male with unlawful possession of marijuana and with speeding.

Police charge a 30-year-old Cornwall man with harassment in the second degree and criminal mischief in the fourth degree causing intentional damages in a domestic dispute.

1:50 am Police respond to a domestic incident.

8:35 am Police investigate a report of a dog that scratched a vehicle while it was parked at the middle school.

1:00 pm Police respond to a two-car motor vehicle accident with minor injuries.

1:45 pm Police respond to a two-car motor vehicle accident with property damage on Route 32.

3:14 pm Police respond to a two-car motor vehicle accident on Route 94 with property damage.

4:40 pm Police investigate a report of a woman receiving unwanted phone calls.


Tuesday, January 18
5:25 am Police respond to a motor vehicle accident with property damage on Mineral Springs Road.

6:07 am Police respond to a motor vehicle accident with property damage on Angola Road.

10:30 am Police respond to a motor vehicle accident with property damage on Mill Street.


Wednesday, January 19
12:04 pm Police respond to a motor vehicle accident with property damage on Mill St.

1:08 pm Police respond to a motor vehicle accident with property damage on Route 9W at the flagpole where a car had gone into a snow bank.



Thursday, January 20
8:58 am pm Police respond to a motor vehicle accident with property damage on Route 9W where a car had gone into a snow bank.

11:49-12:23 pm Police issue tickets to two drivers, including one for using a cell phone while operating a motor vehicle.

3:15 pm Police assist a mentally disturbed male who was threatening to hurt himself.


Friday, January 21
12:40 am Police respond to a domestic dispute.

11:42 am Police transport a male subject to Arden Hill Hospital for a mental health evaluation.

7:58 pm Police move along a group of teenagers hanging out at Dunkin Donuts but not purchasing anything.


Sunday, January 23
4:37 pm Police take a report of a doll that was placed outside the window of a residence. The doll had nails in its head and the word “Friends” written on it with nail polish.

10:00 pm Police respond to a father-son domestic dispute.


Monday, January 24
4:22 pm Police respond to a two-car motor vehicle accident with property damage on Taylor Road.

8:32 am Police respond to a domestic dispute between a mother and her 12-year-old daughter.


Tuesday, January 25
11:15 am Police respond to a one car motor vehicle accident on Route 9W.

12:30 am Police respond to a motor vehicle accident in which an oil truck slid into a parked car on Academy Avenue.

7:18 pm Police move along a group of teenagers in the lobby of 45 Quaker Avenue.

7:42 pm Police respond to a mother-daughter domestic dispute.

8:41 pm Police respond to a husband-wife domestic dispute.

10:22 pm Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 9W.

11:14 pm Police respond to a noise complaint and advise subject to lower his music.


Thursday, January 26
6:00 am Police investigate a report of criminal mischief to parking meters at the Salisbury Mills train station.

5:17 pm Police respond to a motor vehicle accident with property damage on the Route 9WQuaker Avenue ramp.


Friday, January 27
12:21 pm Police take a report of a piece of ice that came off a truck and broke the windshield of a passing car.

6:51 pm Police investigate a report of fraud perpetrated against a woman by someone posing as her grandson who requested that she send him $2,600 to fix his car. She complied then discovered it wasn’t her grandson.

10:54 pm Police respond to a motor vehicle accident with property damage on Route 9W.


Saturday, January 28
7:50 am Police assist a driver having a diabetic episode while driving on Route 9W and transport him to the hospital.

9:32 am pm Police respond to a two-car motor vehicle accident with property damage on Route 32.


Sunday, January 30
12:14 am Police respond to a motor vehicle rollover on Route 32.

4:29 am Police rake a report of a motor vehicle accident on Route 9W.
