Madam Editor:
What a resounding success the evening was! Just a couple of highlights: the ball itself (thanks Ray Yannone) and the zuppa de pesce at the Riverbank (phenomenal). And then there were the Storm King Engine Co. 'Redshirts' that managed the truck and the boom and let's not forget the techies who helped with the lighting and wiring, Wynn and Led Klosky and Steve Sywak, and Mike Annan who actually played Auld Lang Syne for us!
But wait, don't forget the police offficers who, as if by magic, someone remarked, controlled the traffic flow and watched over the revelers (I hope they got their hugs this year, Chuck). Special kudos for Miss Elizabeth Klosky, who took on the clean-up plan. I am sure many folks noticed the specialized trash and recycling receptacles called 'Flings', that were placed all around the square. Elizabeth contacted the producer of these clever little creations and got him involved in the plan. The Flings made the clean up easier and folks at the celebration found them quite convenient.
From start-up (thank you Kris and Ray!) to clean up and every minute in between it was a great event. I may have missed some names, but my heartfelt appreciation to you all for making this such a fun gathering.
