Arrests
Monday, December 13
Police charge David Corey, 23, of Poughkeepsie, with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree (heroin) and with criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument.
Police arrest Diane Pezello-Tata, 44, of Cornwall, on an arrest warrant.
Wednesday, December 15
Police charge Anthony Velez, 22, of Wallkill, with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration and with no insurance.
Police charge Brandon Hazelwood, 23, Wallkill, with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration and with no insurance.
Thursday, December 16
Police charge Virgil E. Thompson, 79, of Newburgh, with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree.
Police charge Salvatore Napolitano, 47, of Cornwall, with driving while intoxicated, consumption of alcoholic beverages, and passing in a no passing zone.
Friday, December 17
Police charge Stephen Bozich, 20, of Salisbury Mills, with unlawful possession of marijuana.
Saturday, December 18
Police charge Adam Wiswell, 24, of Binghamtom, with criminal trespass in the second degree.
Incidents
Monday, December 13
3:35 am Police observe a small fire in the driveway of 70 Angola Road and request the fire department, which extinguished it. It appeared that some type of plastic container had completely melted in the driveway. There were also some fireworks in the area but it was unknown if they were related to this small fire.
4:02 pm Police take a report of a harassment that occurred at the high school.
9:39 pm Police respond to a motor vehicle accident in which a vehicle went into a ditch on Orrs Mills Road.
Tuesday, December 14
5:35 am Police respond to a motor vehicle accident in which a drier lost control of his vehicle on ice on Route 9W.
8:19 pm Police issue a ticket to a driver for speeding on Route 32.
10:24 pm Police investigate a report of a harassing phone call.
Wednesday, December 15
11:23 am Police respond to a minor motor vehicle accident on the ramp from Route 9W to Quaker Avenue.
5:27 pm Police respond to check on the welfare of a woman whose husband was threatening her.
7:16 pm Police issue a traffic ticket to a driver on Route 94.
7:39 pm Police respond to a driver off the roadway on Academy Avenue and Route 9W.
Thursday, December 16
3:25 pm Police respond to a motor vehicle accident with one injury on Quaker Avenue.
7:51 pm Police respond to a two-car motor vehicle accident on Route 32.
8:30 pm Police assist village officer with a traffic stop that resulted in the recovery of 2 oz. of marijuana.
Friday, December 17
8:27 am Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Jackson Avenue and Route 94.
5:51 pm Police respond to a 2-car motor vehicle accident on Route 32 with no injuries.
7:15 pm Police issue a ticket for speeding on Firth Street.
Saturday, December 18
4:53 pm Police respond to a deer vs. motor vehicle accident and dispatch the injured animal.
7:25 –8:10 pm Police issue tickets to two drivers on Route 32.
9:10 pm Police investigate a burglary on Mount Airy Road. (See story)
Sunday, December 19
9:20 pm Police take a report of an accident on Angola Road.
